Mondrian Electric Storm

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut bibendum tortor sit amet ligula rutrum, at porta tortor convallis ...

This abstract oil painting is part of a series of work whose influences draw in equal parts from the tradition of Romantic landscape painting and the sublime, female mystic abstract painters such as Hilma Af Klimt and Mondrian’s Mystic Modernist abstraction. A contemporary expression of the sublime, each piece is constructed in layers consisting of textural gestures and geometric forms using a palette that contrasts, overlays and intertwines fluorescents with dark tones. The use of multiple perspectives points into clouds, raindrops and lightning storms, provides the viewer with experience of wonder through the contemplation of the the elements and is meant to provide new outlooks and approaches to our consideration of the environment and climate change.
